martha makes designs is named for my grandmother, Martha, who was a constant creative influence in my life.
She was a queen of domestic creativity; a master in the kitchen, the seamstress of numerous dresses and outfits I loved as a child (including the red number pictured), and an encouraging and supportive force in my exploration of the arts through my childhood and adolescence. I owe my varied creative passions to her influence and guidance.
